More Craigslisting

looking down
I guess Craigslisting is a verb. Oh well, it is now! :)

Still purging our gobs of extra computer parts. So far we've made over $500 on just dumping old motherboards, drives, cases, etc. It feels so good to purge, you know. Almost like there's a weight off my shoulders. I'd ideally like to get down to just what we are currently using, with a few "just in case" parts. No more saying, "I'll keep it because someday I might know somebody who might need it."

I'm looking forward to my trip on Sunday down to San Francisco. I'm going to a little business gathering that is usually quite relaxed and enjoyable. Back home on Wednesday, then OFF on the 17th on my annual sojourn down south to Puerto Vallarta. I can't wait! Woot! Now the key is to stay healthy until then. Three plane rides during flu season will not be fun. :(

So we've been loading up on our vitamins and fruits and veg. Today we had salmon sandwiches for lunch, and tonight I made a vegetarian fettuccine with zucchini, tomatoes, red onion, and mushrooms. I've been taking Michael Pollan's suggestion to heart, and even wrote it (paraphrased) on the white board on my fridge:

"Eat real food,
mostly plants,
and not too much."

It makes sense, and it's easy to repeat in my head when I'm feeling snacky and craving carbs. He advises not to eat anything your great-grandmother wouldn't recognize as food, which is right in line with my own desire to not let scientists and marketers do my cooking for me. He doesn't necessarily advocate giving up meat entirely, which I would not do. Instead, I change the ratio of meat to plants, which is really quite easy.

Live long and prosper, everyone!

San Francisco was a blast! I will blog more about it once I'm back and all caught up for real :) Yesterday was sleepy on the couch day to recover and today was workin workin and making chili day!

About the chili.. my slow cooker was acting up again. The plug that had worked perfectly before was underpowered today! It took 3 hours for the chili to come to a boil. After much thinking, I decided it was because the dishwasher was running and then on heat dry.

We watched Wall-E last night and absolutely loved it. I almost cried twice! Wall-E and Eva.. awwww :)

Yesterday was a complete stress attack, but I'm feeling *much* better today! I'm back at work and can't wait to do my first photo shoot with our new Nikon D200! Wooty woot woot!

Soooo excited :)

I need a haircut really badly, but I'm trying to wait. A friend is getting married in a couple weeks, and I'd rather have a fresh haircut for the wedding. Yes, girls are like that. We're complicated. Deal with it.

What I really need, though, is a pedicure. I have a gift certificate that I got for my birthday, so I think I'm going to do that this weekend.

Ok, back to work!

Here I be, slaving away. I think we might be heading to Osoyoos for camping this weekend with friends. Weather pending, of course. But I have sooo much to do!

*stress*

Turns you on
The wrap-up party last night was a bit loud for me, but I enjoyed the Yin Yang Twins from the hall, where the music was still so loud that I had to yell to the people with whom I was in deep conversation. Later I moved myself to the lobby of the hotel, where I determined with the help of a co-worker that I have now been with Streamray/Cams.com for four Florida shows, which means three complete years. I really do love the company. They are good to me and I do my best for them.

Speaking of which, I have a business meeting for lunch today that I need to get cracking to. Have you heard of the site HardcoreHotel.com? Apprently it's only a few months old and is already causing a lot of stir with its innovative concepts.

Elli might be sick

The jury is still out, but I've been feeling a cold coming on. I didn't get sick after my Phoenix show, so I guess I'm due for getting ill after the Toronto show. Ugh. I took a night-time Contac Complete last night and that helped with the fever and dizziness, but my sinuses are still achey.

Today I have been ultra productive yet somehow I got no real desk work done. Why are there only so many hours in a day? Who must I talk to do get this situation remedied?

The day after Hallowe'en

Well today seems to be a good day so far. I realized last night that I need to re-analyse some things. My workflow is extremely outdated and has proven to be very inefficient, much like jogging in soft sand. So I need to re-evaluate my daily tasks and figure out which ones to keep and which to change.

At least it's a bright sunny day and I have a hair cut appointment this morning. My tangly ends have really been annoying me lately.

0C so far and holding.... brr!

Indeed.

The project I've been working on for almost a year just got canned. But at least it was given almost a year to prove itself. I feel bad, but there were forces beyond my control, and the bottom line is the bottom line. So this is how the "real world" works, eh?

On a better note, I have a very sociable weekend planned. My darling is staying over for the weekend, and tomorrow night we are getting together with my mother and sis for my mother's birthday dinner. Then on Sunday a friend from the Island is in town, so we're meeting her and her hubby for dinner. And on Monday I'm having a Father's Day lunch with the man of the day. :) It should be fun!

I also hope to get some new sexy photos shot. I'm quite excited about it, actually. I feel like I'm finally trimming up and getting into the shape I've wanted to be in for a few years now. Go me. :)
