Plumb tuckered out, I am! Today was a super busy day. This weekend is a shoot weekend, and we're heading out to catch an early ferry on Friday morning, so today we went to Costco (cuz we were out of shitter paper), the computer store to pick up a Kensington lock for my new laptop, and the mall to rape and pillage the many, many "up to 50% off" sales. Disappointingly I didn't find any lingerie worth buying. I did clean up with a bunch of doodads and earrings and the like, though. Oh, and *cute* gym shorts. Ironically they say "1975" on the back as if they're varsity style, and that's only one year off from my birthday. So knackered. I'm doing one more load of laundry, then off to bed. We decided to stay inside today to make phone calls and do shoots. We got one photo shoot done and two UBER hot videos! You just wait til you see them! Ahhh I feel MUCH better now!

The cottage on Mayne Island was the bees knees! It was an old style country cottage with three levels and sunny decks and a pretty garden, and for only $125 a night we couldn't go wrong! The island itself is about an hour's ferry ride from the mainland. It's covered with lodgepole pine, arbutus, and red cedar trees and teeming with deer. On my trip I saw sea otters, deer, eagles, kingfishers and seals. We just missed seeing the J Pod Killer Whales, which were at the point off the Springwater Lodge  just before we got there for dinner. Pictures are coming, I assure you!

We got eight photo shoots done before we got tired. We tried to find a nice mountaintop vista to do some panoramic Elli photos, but the mountaintop was too wooded and we got lost in the forest for two hours. At least now I can say I've hiked "The Loop" trail on Mayne Island! By the time we got back to the car the light was fading and we were starving and sweaty. After dinner was spent cleaning up the cottage and packing our gear, since we had to catch this morning's ferry at 7:45am. There are only two ferries to the mainland today, you see. If you miss the one, you're stuck on the island until 6pm. And that's just no good for me because I leave for Toronto 7am Wednesday morning!

Select them all
Right Click, select Properties
Unselect the "hidden" box
Click OK

Now you're good to go! I'm reuploading normal files now, so anyone who downloads them after today should have no problem. Sorry about this, folks!

I finally got my update uploaded. It took me 12 hours to upload everything to the members area of my site because this connection drops data every 6 minutes or so. That means I get about 12MB of a zip file uploaded before the server disconnects me and there is no "resume" feature for uploading for some reason. So I start again. Get maybe 15MB in. Last night I gave it one more go and the largest zip file (all the super high quality versions of the photos) finally made it online as I was sleeping in my bed, dreaming of sugar plums and pool boys.

Yay!

 Well I got my photos shot yesterday, but am really unhappy with my
compression program that I installed since I reformatted my computer.
I was using AutoImager to compress my jpgs down to a decent size, but
the software was making even large images have bad artifacts. So today
I am reinstalling ACDSee. It's a bloated program for what it does and
has bad memory management, BUT it's still the best jpg compressor I've
found. sigh.

On a better note, the family Thanksgiving Dinner went very well! There was a minimum of drama, and the food turned out just fine. Also, his mother got us tea towels as a house warming gift and they EXACTLY match the colour we're going to paint the kitchen! The woman has an incredible eye for detail, I tell ya! And she likes me... what could be better? ;)

Well I sat down at my computer bright and early yesterday morning, all ready to do my photo update, when I quickly realized there was no interweb access. I tested it with all the computers. No luck.

It seems that the landlord had unplugged his wireless router for whatever reason and gone off merrily (or not) to work. He fixed it as soon as he got home, but that wasn't until late and I didn't have time to do the uploading before kickboxing class at 7:30pm. So TODAY you're getting all new Elli photos!
