This past week FLEW by, much like the snow geese who have been passing through on their way south en masse. They're very loud, you know. They don't seem to poop as much as Canadian Geese, though. Weird, eh?

So this past week I took a wee trip to a location to get some shoots and videos done. The location turned out just beautiful and I can't wait to share the results with fans on my site at ElliNude.com. I'm *that* pleased with it. Yay! I find it's a lot easier to shoot in someone else's house than in my own. My own is just so cluttered with my own life stuff, and just doesn't seem attractive to me, much less sexy. Sure, I'll still do the odd update in my own digs, but for now I prefer to do my posing elsewhere.

Monday is busy day what with the gym and trying to get caught up with everything. Tuesday is bookkeeping day and dinner with friends. Wednesday is getting my old car fixed to be ready for sale (it has a steering knuckle recall problem that is not actually a recall but a "do it yourself" call.) Thursday is work day and a family birthday. Friday is gym and more work and possibly dinner with friends. Whew!

When does this crazy world slow down?

So far so good. I've made some progress on my new site design for the first time in months. I've had *several* false starts in the past year, always getting halfway through to find that a) I didn't like it or b) it already looked outdated. This time I think I've got something good, though. Whew!

Heading into town tomorrow for errands and hoping to see some friends before dinner. SO MUCH TO DO before my shoot "mini week" on Tues. ACK. Where do I put in a request for more hours in the day??

It sure is windy today!

You know, I had a profound thought while I was driving back from my mother's house on a cat feeding mission (she's away in Toronto.) I even thought to myself, "I should blog about this when I get home!" Well, here I am at home. And I have no idea what my profound thought was.


Nope, not a clue.


Does this mean I'm getting old? Or did I just hit the maximum number of thoughts my brain can juggle at one time? Did seeing the farm girls huddled in their hoodies against the wind in the back of their dad's pickup truck, selling the last of this season's corn spurt my original idea out of my mind? I suppose it's possible. Argh.

yeah, what I said. Piss on all of them.

But can't seem to stay focussed! Argh!

I went back to the gym today. It was my first time in about three weeks, and boy did it feel good! Monday is an easier class than Friday, so it wasn't too bad. I feel nicely stretched now. When I bend over to look in the fridge, my hamstrings whimper a little bit, but that's a good thing. They deserve to whimper!

We are very, very lucky to live where we do. We're surrounded by farms of all kinds, and blueberry farms in particular! So for $18 I picked up a 10lb box of picked-that-day blueberrieis and brought them home yesterday. Today I started the long, long task of freezing them. You see, my freezer is already pretty full and pretty tiny, so there's only room for a 9" round pie tin to lie flat. I hope I get them all frozen before they go off! :)

I'm going to pick up another box in a few days for fresh use and muffin and jam it up, I think! At $18, you can't go wrong. :) A pint of off-season California blueberries costs $4 at the store! Not that I would ever buy such a thing, mind you.

Ok, back to working on this week's update!

Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS to all my American friends with chillun's who are now grumbling their way back to school! Now you adults get your lives back! :) (I know, they're adorable, but you *do* like your time to yourself, don't you?)

This is a busy week! Tomorrow morning I get to wake up at 4am so I can get to the airport on time for my 7:30am flight to Florida. Well, of course it's not a direct flight. That would be too easy (and expensive!) So I'll be landing in Miami sometime after dinner, local time. What a day. Then it's to the Internext show to rub shoulders with some sexy people and see what business I can cook up! :)

Also, I have a very exciting piece of news! Elli is now out of debt! It's been a long, long struggle, but I've really focussed for the last couple years and paid off *all* my credit cards, loans and such. I have 2 car payments left, but everything else is completely down to $0.00. It feels *so* good. Now my money is mine. Thinking about it, I realized that I haven't been completely debt free since college, when I got my first credit card, which is quite ridiculous. It only took me 13 years, but yay! I finally got here! Woot and WHEW! Now maybe I can buy myself a dresser that doesn't have drawers that fall out on my toes if I pull them open too far.... ;)

Today is a local farm and crafter market, so we're heading out to check it out. Very exciting! The tables I look forward to visiting most:

the woodcarver fellow who makes mixed-wood cutting boards
the minidonuts van of course!

Getting through the week!

It's not all that bad. I've been harvesting my beets and green onions as I cook, so that's just lovely. It's so rewarding the eat the fruits of one's labour, don't you think? And now that there are no weeds and all I have to do in the garden is water and pet my pretties, it's really not bad. I can't understand when people say they don't have time to garden. It's not that hard, as long as you keep it to scale. :)

It was another busy week for us. Last night was a lot of fun though, with a nice birthday at a friend's place to celebrate with good people. Today I'm chillin' and getting some work done. Tonight I think I'll watch a movie.

It's time to dig up another beet out of the garden! They're so lovely sliced and fried in butter and garlic! mmmmm!
