To get myself out of a fitness rut, I've spent the last few weeks in the pool. I've always loved to swim, so I'm really not sure why I took such a long hiatus. After purchasing a responsible, full coverage swim suit (which is really a great deal harder than it seems) I was ready for the lanes!
The "Davis Mile" intrigued me when I found it online yesterday, so I tried it today.

This was the first day I counted laps instead of just swimming for an hour straight, and I was somewhat pleased to see that I completed the "mile" in 49 minutes. That's with a lot of leg only, arm only, and breast stroke thrown in for good measure, so I wasn't trying to beat any hot lap records. Still, it gives me something to aim for in the future!
I love that my leg muscles are already showing up better and my abs are coming back from their long winter's nap! Note to self: swimming is an excellent "cutter" for me for that instant buff look. I'll have to keep this one in my back pocket :
