omg omg Q6600

After much fussing and loss of hair and sanity to my video encoding habits, I finally bit the bullet and bought a quad core processor. I read the reviews and balanced the numbers, and I stood to gain about 50% of my time back, so at $230 it was worth the sacrifice.

I must say I heart this chip. Quad is SO much more uber than dual. :)

What'd you get... Intel Core2 Quad or AMD Phenom X4? I have two AMD Athlon X2 duals in my home office and will likely get a Phenom X4 when I need a new unit (main PC is a 2007/2008* Athlon X2 5200+, the backup PC is a 2005 Athlon X2 3800+).

* - computer is a 2007, but the mobo and processor are new as of May 2008 (warranty replacement).

I'm an Intel girl because it's just better at the encoding and photo processing stuff so far. AMD is a bit cheaper but... *shrug* I'm in the brand, as they say :)
