If you've ever wondered what the Landale Ferry terminal looks like at Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast of BC, wonder no longer! :) Those are the Coast Mountains you can see in the background. They're spectacular and scary. You don't *have* to take a ferry to get back to the mainland, but the road will take you a good three or four days and requires full 4x4 capabilities and BYOJC (Bring Your Own Jerry Can.) So most people take the ferry, since it's only a 45 minute ride. :)

I love visiting the Sunshine Coast. It's so beautiful up there. Lots of wildlife still, and lots of wild spaces. The people who live there full time are a bit kooky, but they have to be. There's not much of a local economy other than tourism, so most full timers are either retired or very rich, with a bunch of hippies in between. I would live up there if I could, but it's not really in the cards. I think a lot of people say that.

Can't wait for my next trip back...
